All types meet fair demand

FE ReportbrIt was the first sale in the holy month of Ramadan, which met with a fairly strong demand from all sections. Blenders and Packeteers were quite active along with useful interest from the Loose tea buyers. Pakistan buyers operated for quite a fair weight of tea. Afghanistan entered the market for clean bolder BOPs. There was renewed interest for Dusts particularly the good liquoring types, which were appreciably dearer.brCTC LEAR 20,359 packages and 50 packages of old season on offer met with a fairly strong demand at mostly firm rates.brBROKENS Well made good liquoring BOPs were strongly competed for and mostly appreciated by Tk 1.00 to Tk 3.00 and these could be quoted between Tk 120 and Tk 124. Medium and smaller types were a fairly firm market.brFANNITNGS Well made Fannings were a strong feature and were mostly firm and these could be quoted between Tk 124 and Tk 127. The remainders were often easier by Tk 1.00. However, the plainer varieties declined.brCTC DUST 3,564 packages, on offer met with an improved demand at mostly dearer rates. Good liquoring types were a strong market and were dearer by Tk 51 and sometimes more following competition.brAll others were mostly firm to occasionally dearer following quality. Plainer types eased a little. Blenders were more active with good support from the Loose tea buyers. Pakistan operated in strength for the best liquoring types.
