All varieties face lower prices

In the face of less demand, market declined for all varieties particularly the Medium and plainer types, which were often withdrawn without bids. However, well-made good liquoring teas were well supported at lower rates. Blenders and Packeteers lent a fairly good support but there was less interest from the Loose tea buyers. Pakistan stayed out of the market. Dusts were a lower market following less competition.
CTC LEAF: 22,017 packages and 141 packages of old season on offer met with less demand and prices eased with the progress of sale.
BROKENS: Well made good liquoring Brokens met with a fairly good market but eased by Tk 8.00 to Tk 12. Smaller varieties were selling between
Tk 120 and Tk 126.. Others were easier by up to Tk 15.
FANNINGS: Well made good liquoring Fannings met with a good demand but prices were progressively easier and these generally declined by Tk 8.00 to Tk 12 and these could be quoted between Tk 118 and Tk 125. Others decline by a greater margin particularly towards the end.
