Alleged criminal killed in gunfight

An alleged criminal was killed in a gunfight between RAB members and a gang at Kachukhet in the capital's Cantonment area Tuesday, RAB sources said. The deceased was identified as Firoz (27), alias Kosai Firoz, who was wanted in a number of criminal cases, including murder, a RAB-4 personnel told the FE. A patrol team of RAB-4 unit challenged a gang of seven to eight young men who gathered near the Noor Mosque at around 3:00am. But the gang started firing on the law enforcers sensing danger. RAB personnel retaliated, "Firoz was caught in the line of fire and died on the spot while he was trying to escape, the RAB personnel said. — FE Report
