Alleged killer of BRAC employee arrested

NATORE, Mar 13: Lalpur thana police in a special drive arrested Tuman, accused killer of BRAC employee Abdul Mazid and 6 other persons on different cases on March 12 Saturday. Killer of Abdul Mazid was identified as Tuman (28), son of Mozaffar Hossain of Shibpur Khanpara under Lalpur Upazila in Natore district. During the drive SI Faruk and one constable Ashraful Hoque were injured. Police also recovered 70 bottles of phensidyl and arrest 6 persons . The arrested drug peddlers were identified as Abdul Mamin (25), son of Azer Uddin village Meramatpur under Charghat Upazila in Rajahahi district, Sahabul (28), son of Abdul Ghani village Barabadkay under Lalpur Upazila of Natore district, Ashraful Islam (23) son of Akkas Ali of village Barabadkaya under Lalpur Upazila, Raihan (20) son of Kamrul Islam village Kalupara and Badsha (48) son of Lalchand Village Mahishakhola under Lalpur Upazila in Natore district. 2 killed in road mishap Another message adds: Two persons were killed in a road mishap on Natore-Dhaka highway at Ahmedpur Khezurtala under Baraigram Upazila in Natore district on March 11 Friday. The deceased were identified as Sumya, daughter of Shahid of village Atghoria under Baraigram Upazila and Ekabbar Ali (50) of village Kachutia under Baraigram Upazila. Drug traders get RI A mobile court headed by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Baraigram Md. Mamunur Rashid arrested drug peddler Mamun (30) son of Abdus Samad village Kalikapur under Baraigram Upazila in Natore district sentenced him to 2 years' imprisonment on March 10. Another anti-drug drive headed by Officer-in-Charge Bonpara highway police outpost Saiful Islam arrested Rokon (50) and Joynal Abedin (52) handed over them to mobile court. Later they were sentenced to 3 months imprisonment on March 10. One killed in train accident BSS adds: A man was run over by a Dinajpur-bound train from Dhaka at Muladuli in Boraigram Upazila of the district Saturday night. Police and eyewitnesses said the unidentified man aged about 40 fell from the roof of the Ekota Express train and was crushed under its wheels. Police sent the body to a local hospital for autopsy. A case was filed with the Boraigram police station.
