Alleged rapist killed by mob in Pabna

PABNA, Nov 22: An extremist rapist was beaten to death and his associate sustained injured at Char Shibrampur village of Pabna Sadar upazila on Monday morning. The villagers beat them over a rape incident.
The deceased was identified as Azibar Rahman (40) of the village Char Shibrampur in Pabna Sadar upazila.
Officer in charge of Pabna sadar police station Mohosin Uzzaman said that a gang of extremists led by Azibar Rahman abducted a newly married young girl (25) of the village in the early hours of Monday. She was gang raped near switch gate area of the village early Monday.
Being informed the agitated mob lynched Azibar and his associate Abul Hasnat alias Blog Tokai at the Char Shibrampur Switch Gate area at about 8am on Monday. Police rushed to the spot and rescued Azibar and Hasnat in a critical condition from the scene and took them to Pabna General Hospital where Azibar succumbed to his injuries.
School boy killed
Only a mobile set is behind the murder of an innocent boy in Sujanagar upazila.
The deceased was identified as Rahat Pramanik (8) son of Md. Hafiz Uddin of village Hassampur of Najirganje union in Sujanagar upazila under Pabna district.
The victim was the student of class two of local primary school. Police arrested the accused criminal. Sorrows gripped among the villagers as an innocent boy was killed over a mobile set. The villagers demanded the exemplary punishment to the alleged culprit.
The boy was missing from Sunday. Later the police recovered the body of Rahat from the mighty river Padma at Hasampur village at about 8am on Monday. Following the locals information the police arrested Jahidul Islam, an accused criminal and a neighbour of the victim from the village.
2 minors burnt alive
Two minors were burnt alive and two others sustained injuries as a house caught fire at Charpara village under Laksmipur union in Atghoria Upazila of Pabna Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Shammi (5), daughter of Rais Uddin and Siam (5), son of Tipu Biswas of the village.
Local people said the fire originated from the kitchen of Nurul Islam in the village Charpara and engulfed the cottage made with straw. The victims, who were playing in the kitchen, were burnt to death.
The two injured Bannya (5) and Morzina (32) were admitted to the Pabna General Hospital in a critical condition.
