Alleged robber beaten to death

GAZIPUR, June 21 (UNB): An alleged robber was beaten to death by mob at Dumni village under Sreepur Upazila Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Sohel, a resident of Joina Bazar of the Upazila.
Locals said a gang of robbers stormed the house of expatriate Shanti Chandra at Dumni village at about 12:45 am. The hoodlums beat up the house inmates as they tried to resist them.
They looted five tolas of gold ornaments, Tk 0.15 million cash and other valuables worth Tk 0.5 million from the house.
When the inmates raised a hue and cry, locals came to their rescue and locked in a fight with the robbers who stabbed two of them.
