AL\\\'s Milon elected unopposed in S\\\'ganj-3 by poll

Awami League nominated Gazi Amzad Hossain Milon was elected uncontested in by-election to the Sirajganj-3 constituency. Returning officer Subash Chandra Sarkar made the announcement on Sunday evening. Earlier two candidates submitted their nomination for Sirajganj-3 (Raiganj-Tarash). They are AL’s Amzad and Akhtarul Islam Munnu (independent). The returning officer cancelled the nomination paper of Akhtarul Islam due to fault. Akhtarul Islam did not have 1 per cent support of the voters of his constituency, said Md Abdur Rahim, assistant returning officer. Even he did not appeal to the commission, added Abdur Rahim, according to a news agency.
