Amader Shomoy editor gets bail in defamation case

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 11 (UNB): A court Sunday granted bail to three journalists, including publisher and editor of daily Amader Shomoy Naimul Islam Khan, in a defamation case.
Other two journalists are reporter of the daily Dulal Ahmed Chowdhury and editing assistant Julfikar Russell.
Judicial Magistrate Md Mainuddin granted the bail when they sought bail appearing before the court in the morning.
Kazi Abdul Bari, general secretary of Rajshahi divisional Kazi Samity, filed the case on May 3, 2009 accusing them of tarnishing the professional image of Kazis and Nikah Registrars by publishing a news item on marriage and employment on April 26, 2009.
