Aman admitted to DMCH
Monday, 24 August 2015
BNP Joint Secretary General Amanullah Aman fell sick at Dhaka Central Jail and was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) from the prison on Sunday night. When contacted, the jailer of the Dhaka Central Jail said Aman complained of chest pain in the afternoon and subsequently he was taken to the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) prison cell. However, doctors at the BSMMU referred him to Birdem Hospital. DMCH police camp in-charge Inspector Mozammel Haque said Aman was taken to Birdem from the BSMMU around 9.00pm, but the authorities refused to get him admitted. From Birdem, the BNP leader was taken to the DMCH around 10:45pm and got admitted to Unit-1 of the Medicine Department. On August 2, separate Dhaka courts sent Aman to jail in a number of cases filed for arson attacks and vandalism during the BNP-led 20-party alliance’s blockade and hartal programme, rejecting his bail petitions, according to a news agency.
