Aman procurement starts in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Dec 14:  Procurement of Aman rice has started in Nilphamari district on the 1st of December to continue up to the 28 of February next year.
District Controller of food office sources said this year's allotment of rice procurement in the district is 4191 metric tonnes. There would be no paddy procurement this year.
Rice to be procured in seven Local Supply Depots (LSD) of the district in six upazilas. Upazila-wise procurement target is sadar Upazila 1079 metric tonnes, Syedpur Upazila 518 metric tonnes, Domar Upazila 945 metric tonnes, Jaldhaka Upazila 838 metric tonnes, Dimla Upazila 666 metric tonnes and Kishorganj Upazila 145 metric tonnes.
Rice to be procured from the contracted husking mills and auto rice mills of the district at a rate of Tk 30 per kg.
