Aman production encouraging in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Dec 4: Bumper production of Aman paddy is expected in Nilphamri dristrict in this Aman season. While contacted Deputy Director of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Nilphamari Mostafizur Rahman said sufficient rainfall in the month of late rainy session helped greatly for Aman cultivation.
DAE sources said Aman cultivation target was set in 1,15,147 hectares of land to produce 2,73,732 tones of paddy and the target is expected to be achieved. In the meantime 50 per cent harvesting of Aman paddy has been completed and harvesting is going on across 6 Upazilas of this district.
On the other hand, farmers are busy harvesting the Aman paddy speedily because they have to prepare the same land for next Boro cultivation for which seed bed preparations is going on everywhere.
