Ambassador Ziauddin meets Obama

Bangladesh’s new ambassador to the United States Mohammad Ziauddin has presented his credentials to the State Department. Ziauddin also met with President Barack Obama at the White House on Thursday. President Obama welcomed the Bangladesh envoy in the Oval Office of the White House in the afternoon (local time). Ambassador Ziauddin conveyed to President Obama the greetings of President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and also their invitation to the US President to visit Bangladesh at his convenient. During the ceremony, Ziauddin said that Bangladesh and USA enjoy the best of relations and that the US has been to Bangladesh a time tested, trusted and reliable partner in its development and progress. In response, President Obama said ‘the two countries would continue to work together in strengthening the bilateral relations, and for achieving our common goals’. He also said that the Ambassador would get all support in carrying out his work during his tenure in the USA, according to a news agency.
