There are allegations of sufferings faced by patients and their relatives due to the alleged dominance of an ambulance drivers' syndicate in the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital area of the capital. Allegations have also been raised that the syndicate influences which hospital a patient will be taken to and how fares will be set.
