Tuesday, 12 April 2011

BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Monday asked the government to take opinions of all sections of people before amending the constitution without creating any shroud, reports UNB. Otherwise, he cautioned, people will not accept any imposed amendment as the incumbent party did in the past. Fakhrul was speaking at a roundtable on "Conspiracy to cancel caretaker government system and course of action" organized by Jatiyatabadi Sangskritk Foundation at the National Press Club. Pointing to the misdeeds and failures he said continuation of this government will cause colossal damage to the nation. The government should resign immediately and hold midterm election in response to the people's wishes. The BNP leader called for unity of democratic forces for launching united movement to protect the nation and to face future challenges.
