Amended ACC organogram may be approved in 10 days

Friday, 6 July 2007

The proposed amended organogram of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) with nearly double the existing manpower is expected to be approved in 10 days to facilitate the anti-graft watchdog to function more effectively. "The Chief Adviser telephoned me Wednesday and told me he would do it as soon as possible," ACC chairman Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury told reporters Thursday afternoon. Replying to a query, Mashhud, flanked by new ACC secretary Mokhlesur Rahman, said the proposed amended organogram of the ACC is likely to be approved within 7-10 days. He, however, did not say how many employees the Commission will have under the new organogram. But according to sources, the amended organogram proposed 1,281 members of staff compared to 650 under the existing organogram. —UNB
