Amjad Khan elected MCCI chief, Nihad vice-president

Maj. Gen. Amjad Khan Chowdhury (Retd), managing director and chief executive officer, PRAN-RFL Group of Companies has been elected President of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI) for 2011. The new executive committee of the chamber, at its first meeting held on Tuesday, elected him as the President, says a press release of the MCCI.
Mr. Chowdhury, one of the most successful business personalities in Bangladesh, has provided leadership to business community in different capacities. As a leading entrepreneur, Mr. Chowdhury has investments in light engineering, plastic & PVC pipe, milk products and processed agricultural produce, confectioneries, juices, farm equipments, etc. He is playing pioneering role in the field of agro processing industry in the country.
Meanwhile, Ms. Nihad Kabir, Bar-at-Law, Senior Partner, Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed & Associates has been elected Vice President of the MCCI. She is also a Director of BRAC Bank Limited, Infrastructure Development Co. Ltd. and Kedarpur Tea Co. Ltd.
