Amjad Khan wins Rotary SEED Award

Rotary Club of Metropolitan Dhaka organized a programme Saturday in the city where it announced winner of this year's Rotary Science Education and Economic Development (SEED) Award.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, President of ICC Bangladesh formally handed over the 16th SEED Award 2012 to Maj Gen Amjad Khan Chowdhury (Retd), founder and CEO of Pran-RFL Group in presence of Rotary District Governor Mr. Ishtiaqe A Zaman Ph.D, Rotary Club of Metropolitan Dhaka, President Mr. Syed Mahbubur Rahman and Chairman of the Installation Committee Mr. Khalid Hassan along with the invited dignitaries.
This award has been given to him in recognition of his outstanding contribution in the economic development through setting new trends in agro-processing industry and taking Bangladesh boldly to the world and thus generating thousands of jobs and new entrepreneurs in rural areas.
The award carries a medal, a prize money amounting to Tk. 2,00,000/= (Two Lac), and a citation.
Rotary Science Education and Economic Development (SEED) Award was introduced in 1995 by Rotary Club of Metropolitan Dhaka and Rotary Club of Metropolitan Dhaka Foundation. Previous winners of the award include - Nobel Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Sir Fazle Hasan Abed, Founder of IBA Professor Shafiullah, Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Dr. Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, Professor Iqbal Quadir, Mr. Shykh Seraj, Dr. Mohammad Zafar Iqbal and Haripada Kapali and other individuals for their commendable contribution to the society.
Rotary Club of Metropolitan Dhaka celebrated its glorious 30 years of installation this year.
