Amu dismisses HRW demand to disband Rab

Dismissing the rights group Human Rights Watch’s (HRW) demand to disband the elite force Rab, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Monday said it is the internal matter of Bangladesh. “It’s our internal matter. We won’t take any decision based on their (HRW) letter,” he said. Amu was talking to reporters after presiding over a meeting of the cabinet committee on law and order at the home ministry on Monday. The New York-based HRW in a letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the Bangladesh government should disband the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) , according to a news agency.
