Amu off to Austria

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu left for Austria on Monday to attend the 2nd Partnerships to Scale up Investment for Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development Conference. The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) will organise the event in Vienna, the capital of Austria, on November 4-5 with the aim to further expand partnerships and scale up investment for inclusive and sustainable industrial development. The industries minister will highlight the Bangladesh government’s initiative and the development of industrial sector in the 2nd global forum. UNIDO Director General LI Yong, President of Austria Heinz Fischer, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and other leaders will join the conference. Earlier, the 1st conference, held on June 23-24, member states engaged in a strategic dialogue on how to formulate and operationalise inclusive and sustainable industrial development strategies and policies. The minister is expected to return home on Nov 7, according to an official handout.
