Animal sacrifice continues on 2nd day of Eid

Saturday, 26 September 2015

The slaughtering of sacrificial animals is continuing in Dhaka city and its suburbs on the second day of Holy Eid-ul-Azha on Saturday. However, the number of sacrificing animals is remarkably lower than the first day of Eid-ul-Azha. Eid was celebrated in Bangladesh on Friday.
Some devotees sacrificed their cattle in city’s Jatrabari, Dayaganj, Dholaikhal, Dhanmodni, Topkhana Road, Gopibagh, Badda, Rampura, Malibagh, Moghbazar and Lalbagh this (Saturday) morning. In many places, people were seen sacrificing animals ignoring the city corporations’ request of slaughtering sacrificial animals in the designated spots, announced by both the city corporations of Dhaka.
One Joynal Abedin, who slaughtered his cattle in a lane near Malibagh Bazar, said he sacrificed a cow on Friday, the first day of Eid-ul—Azha, and sacrificing another on the second day.
‘This is arranged just to avoid the hassle of qurbani of two cows in a day,’ he added, according to a news agency.
