Another accused held over Rajon murder

Police arrested another accused from Lamakaji Mirergaon area of Sylhet city on early Monday in connection with the murder of teenage boy Rajon at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area on Wednesday. The arrestee was identified as Ismail Hossain Abul, 32, cousin of prime accused Muhit Alam. Akhter Hossain, officer-in-charge of Jalalabad Police Station said they arrested Abul from the area early in the morning. Meanwhile, a Sylhet court placed prime accused Muhit on a 5-day remand in the morning in a case filed in connection with the murder. Earlier on July 8, Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, 13, son of Sheikh Azizur Rahman of Badeali village in sadar upazila, was tortured to death by a mob over theft at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of the city. The killers themselves took the video footage of the incident and uploaded it on the internet. The video clip went viral on social networking site Facebook and video-sharing site Youtube which caused an outcry. Jalalabad police filed a case against four people, including Muhit, his brother Quamrul Islam, 24, their associate, Ali Haider alias Ali, 34, and guard Moyna Mia alias Boro Moyna, 45, in this connection, according to a news agency.
