Another big arms haul at Satchhari jungles

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel have discovered another big arms haul at Satchhari jungles under Chunarughat Upazila in Habiganj district. In a special drive at Satchhari jungles on Tuesday morning, a team of RAB-9 recovered a large quantity of firearms and ammunitions from the reserve forest near Bangladesh-India border. RAB Additional Director General Col Ziaul Ahsan has said many Light Machine Guns (LMG), Sub Machine Guns (SMG) and Self Loading Rifles (SLR) and a large amount of ammunition were found in the bush, hardly 3 kilometres (km) off Indian border. In June, the elite force discovered another big cache of arms, including grenade, bombs and ammo from Satchhari jungles. Then, the crime busting unit of the police recovered combat weapons, including about 200 rocket launchers, huge anti-tank explosives, mortar shells, chargers for rocket launchers. A team of over 100 members of RAB-9, led by Additional DG (Operation) Ziaul Ahsan and media wing director Wing Commander Habibur Rahman, conducted a special drive at Satchhari forests in the morning of June 3 and seized the arms and ammo from five bunkers, according to private TV channels.
