Another REHAB fair in NY this week

Wednesday, 17 October 2007

FE Report
The Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) is going to organise its forth ever fair in the United States this week as part of its programme to expand Bangladesh real estate market abroad and attract foreign investment at home.
The three-day REHAB Housing Fair New York 2007 begins on October 19 at Altman building in New York aiming at keeping up the demand created among the Bangladeshis living in this popular city. At least 50 real estate, housing and financial organisations are likely to attend the fair with their ready and upcoming products.
A REHAB source said this year's REHAB target is more on keeping up the demand created among Bangladeshis than expanding the real estate market.
He said Bangladeshi inhabitation in New York is more than other parts of the United States and many Bangladeshis still want to have a secured place at home after the 9/11 incident. The REHAB wants to hold that sentiment of the Bangladeshis, he added.
More than 300,000 Bangladeshi immigrants are living in New York.
The REHAB has so far organised six fairs abroad since 2004 to foster the growth of real estate sector and help the Bangladeshis living in different countries buy apartment, land and commercial spaces in their home country. Apart from New York, it has organised fair in Rome, London and Dubai. The first-ever REHAB housing fair abroad was organised in 2004 in New York.
The REHAB, only trade organisation of the country's real estate developers with a current membership of 260 also organises REHAB Housing Fair each year in Bangladesh for its member developers, financial institutions and building material providers. It has already successfully completed three housing fairs during 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 & 2005 at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel Complex.
