Another spell of hartal from 6am Wednesday

Jamaat-e-Islami has called a hartal (shutdown) for Wednesday, protesting upholding of capital punishment to its leader Mohammad Kamaruzzaman by the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. Jamaat announced the 2nd spell of 48-hour nationwide general strike a few minutes after the apex court upheld the death verdict for its Assistant Secretary General Mohammad Kamaruzzaman for war crimes on Monday. The latest round of strike announced in the morning, means the country will be under a 48-hour shutdown starting from 6:00am Wednesday until 6:00am Friday, according to private TV channels.
