Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank gets new chairman--

Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud has been appointed as the Chairman of Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank on Sunday. The Department of Financial Institutions of the Ministry of Finance issued a letter in this regard, says a press release.

Major General Sazzad joined the Bangladesh Military Academy in 1990 as a young talented officer cadet and was commissioned in the Infantry Corps in the 26th Long Term Course on June 9, 1992. After his commission, he began his military career by joining the 9th Battalion (Charging Nine) of the East Bengal Regiment.
In addition to training in various fields, he successfully completed the United Nations Integrated Mission Staff Officers Course (UNIMSC) in Canada and the International Joint Operational Planning Course from the United Kingdom. He did his graduation from Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) and National Defence College, Mirpur (NDC). He also completed his Master's in Military Science Strategic Studies with honours from National Defence University, China.
Major General Sazzad was awarded the 'Sena Gaurav Padak (SGP)' for conducting a successful raid operation on a terrorist hideout in the border area of Bilaichhari Zone in Chittagong Hill Tracts.
