The government has decided to observe Anti Eve-teasing Day across the country on June 13 aimed at creating mass awareness against the eve-teasers, and spare schoolgirls from being demeaned, reports UNB.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid made the announcement at a press conference at his office recenly.
Speaking on the occasion, Nahid said the education ministry had already sent letters to all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) directing them to observe the day.
"Different programmes including rallies, meetings, oath-taking and leaflet and poster distribution have been chalked out to sensitise the people against eve-teasing on June 13," he said.
