Anwar earns first gold medal in Marcel Club Cup Bodybuilding

Anwar Hossain clinched the first gold medal of the Marcel Refrigerator Club Cup Open Bodybuilding competition winning the top slot in 65 kgs weight category of the meet that began Monday at the NSC Tower Auditorium, reports UNB.
Shakib Al Hasan won the silver medal while Mohammad Nazmul Hasan bagged the bronze in the lone event settled on the day .The champion got prize money of Tk 5,000 while the runner-up Tk 3,000 and the 3rd finisher Tk 2,000 in addition to medals and trophies.
Earlier, State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, MP inaugurated the two-day competition in the afternoon. Additional Director of the meet's sponsor RB Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar was also present as a special guest.
Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony today (Tuesday).
Some 250 bodybuilders from 55 clubs are taking part in the seven weight categories -- 55 kgs, 60 kgs, 65 kgs, 70 kgs, 75 kgs, 80 kgs and +80 kgs.
