Tuesday, 1 September 2015
The Apollo Hospital Group is planning to expand its operations in Bangladesh and Kolkata in the next few years, a top official of the city facility has said. "We presently have a hospital in Dhaka. We have plans to have one more hospital in Chittagong," Apollo Hospital ECO, Eastern Region, Rupali Basu, said. However, it is yet to be decided whether it would be through a tie-up or through some other mechanism. The move is being taken because of increasing number of patients from Bangladesh in our Kolkata facility, Basu told reporters on Monday. The group is also contemplating to have a 200-bed hospital in southern part of Kolkata, capital of India’s Pashchimbanga state, she said. The group now has a 510-bedded hospital in the northern part of Kolkata. "Besides, we also have plans to set up a new facility in India’s north eastern region, particularly Assam," Basu said, according to a news agency.
