Appeal for road repair at Dagonbhuiyan

Two hundred and fifty metres of the road from Yatimkhana Complex to Mehdipur Gazipukur Par at Dagonbhuiyan upazila in Feni district goes under knee-deep water during rainfall and the movement of traffic remains totally suspended causing untold sufferings to the people.
The one kilometre road scheme was undertaken at a cost of about Tk 3 million in 2009. As development works of the current financial year are yet to start in full swing, we hope that the road will get the attention of the concern authority concerned without delay.
It may be mentioned here that the LGRD minister in answer to a written question of a lawmaker in the first session of the 9th parliament informed the House that the road would be developed into a pucca road after feasibility study and allocation of funds.
In spite of the assurance of the minister it is sad that the fate of the scheme remains undecided as yet.
In the end, we fervently request the prime minister to kindly look into the matter, so that the road scheme gets approval and is implemented within this financial year to mitigate the sufferings of the local people.
