Applications for DV 2009 starts today

The online application for the US Diversity Visa (DV) 2009 starts today (Wednesday) at 10 pm (BST). Applicants from the qualifying countries including Bangladesh may submit their applications providing their name, address and a few other pieces of information on website - www.dvlottery.state.gov. The DV-2009 applications are only accepted online, and no paper applications are acceptable. Maximum 3,500 visas will be provided among the DV-winners of any country including Bangladesh. The US Embassy urged potential applicants to be careful of agents while sending their applications, as the agents could take advantage by deceiving them, and also suggested them not to pay any fee to submit a DV entry in the internet. All instructions in print are already on display at the Embassy, American Centre and at Saimon Overseas Centre. —UNB
