We have stepped into the digital era and have the right of access to information. We can pay utility bills online, deposit income tax returns online and even collect Porcha (ownership receipt of land) online. This is undoubtedly a great achievement that indicates our marching ahead alongside the global trend. Another worthwhile decision is to open up facebook IDs of government officials and make that public. This will allow people from all walks of life to interact with them directly and express their opinions. Now the question is, whether the government officials, particularly district-level officers will regularly check their mails and respond to the queries therein. Again, a village primary school teacher may have an idea regarding development of rural education and he wants to share the same with the Education Minister or Secretary. It is now almost impossible for a primary school teacher to have access to a Minister or a Secretary.  Will he be able to share his ideas with them through the facebook?
