Aramit Cement holds AGM

CHITTAGONG Jul 21: The 11th annual general meeting (AGM) of Aramit Cement Ltd (ACL) was held at the conference room of Chittagong Club in the port city Thursday.
Chairman of the company's board of directors and Managing Director of Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) Ziaul Huq Khondker presided over the AGM.
ACL Managing Director Saifuzzaman Chowdhury attended the AGM and spoke on the occasion.
He said the company contributed an amount of Tk 145.32 million to the national exchequer in the form of customs duty, VAT ,IDSC and AIT in 2006.
He further said the company exported goods worth about Tk 14.16 million and earned an after-tax profit of Tk 6.97 million last year.
ACL Directors Amirul Islam, Jahangir Miah, Company Sectary Ibrahim Khalil and a large number of share-holders were present in the AGM. The share-holders approved the AGM and audited financial statements for the year 2006.
