Arlin Chess begins from April 25

The Arlin Developer 31st National Women's Chess Championship will begin with 12 women chess players in the Narayanganj Club auditorium Friday, reports BSS.
Defending Champion Sharim Sultana Shirin, runner-up Shamima Akter Liza, IM Rani Hamid, FM Syeda Shabana Parvin Nipa, IM Tonima Hamid, Masuda Begum, Nazrana Khan Eva, Zakia Sultana, Jahanara Huq Runu, Protiva Talukder, Sabiha Sharmin Simmi and Mahmuda Huq Molly will join the 13-day round robin league format meet.
This is for the first time, the women's championship will be held outside the capital. The Narayanganj District Sports Association organised a press briefing Wednesday in the city. Organising Committee Chairman Kutubuddin Aksir said, 'Narayanganj has a rich tradition of chess and both the champion and the runner-up are from Narayanganj. We are proud to set a milestone by hosting the national meet outside the capital.'
The top five players of the meet will qualify to represent Bangladesh in the next Chess Olympiad in Russia by the end of the year. The sponsors announced Tk 50,000 prize money for top three finishers.
The sponsors Arlin Developers will provide Tk 3,50,000 of the estimated budget of Tk 6,50,000.
