Armed guard as England arrive in Chittagong

Tuesday, 8 March 2011

CHITTAGONG, Mar 7 (AFP): England's World Cup squad flew into the Bangladeshi port city of Chittagong on Monday and were whisked away to their hotel under tight security. Traffic on the normally crowded roads was cleared for the team bus, which was escorted by gun-toting securitymen to the hotel in downtown Chittagong, where England take on Bangladesh in a key Group B match on Friday. World Cup officials have beefed up security for players and officials in Bangladesh, following the stoning of the West Indies team bus in Dhaka last Friday.
