Arms case: another 45 days for probe

CHITTAGONG, March 30: Investigators in 10 trucks loaded arms and ammunition case have got 45 days for further investigation. CID's senior assistant police super M Moniruzzaman prayed for extension of 60 days time and submitted case docket as per instruction of Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge AKM Shamsul Islam on Sunday last. It is the 11th time the Criminal Investigation Department sought extension of probe time in the country's biggest arms haul case. Chittagong Metropolitan Police seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition laden in 10 trucks from the CUFL (Chittagong Urea Fertiliser Ltd.) reserved jetty on April 1, 2004. A number of senior government officials including high-ups from different intelligence agencies have been called for interrogation in the case.
