Arms, explosives seized in Benapole

BENAPOLE: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in separate drives recovered four pistols, six rounds of bullets, four magazines and one kg of explosives in Kadamtala Baropota area and Putkhali border in Sharsha upazila early Saturday.
Lt Col Mostafizur Rahman, commanding officer of 23 BGB Khulna Battalion said being tipped-off, a team of BGB members launched a drive in Kadamtala Baropota area of the upaizla around 4am. Sensing the presence of BGB men, the smugglers fled the scene leaving behind a bag, according to a news agency.
Meanwhile, a patrol team of BGB recovered one kg of explosives from an abandoned bag along Putkhali border of the upazila in the morning.
