Arms trader arrested in C\\\'nawabganj

An alleged arms trader was arrested in Tarapur Bazar under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district on Friday night. Police identified the arrestee as Mahbub Alam, 29, son of Emran Alam, a resident of Tarapur Bazar village. Officer-in-charge of Shibganj Police Station MM Moynul Islam said being tipped off, a police team conducted a drive and arrested Mahbub while he was trying to sell the arms in Tarapur Bazar around 10:30pm. The law enforcers also recovered one foreign made pistol, two magazines and five rounds of bullet from his possession. The arrestee had long been involved in arms trading, the OC said, according to UNB.
