Army, Ansar clinch titles

Bangladesh Army and Ansar & VDP teams clinched the Walton Men's and Women's National Volleyball titles respectively beating their rivals in the final matches at the Dhaka Volleyball Stadium in the city, reports UNB. This was the 2nd consecutive and the 13th national crown for Bangladesh Army out of the 25 Men's national competitions held since its inception in 1973 in Dhaka. On other hand, this was the 3rd successive and the overall 5th title for Ansar & VDP team in the national women's meet since its introduction in 1979 in Rangpur. In the day's finals, Bangladesh Army earned a straight 29-27, 25-16, 25-11 points victory over Bangladesh Air Force in the men's final while Ansar & VDP also managed a straight 25-18, 25-23, 25-18 win over BJMC. Chittagong University finished 3rd in the men's group while Rajshahi DSA won the 3rd slot in the women's section. Adviser (Programme) of the meet's media partner ATN Bangla Noajesh Ali Khan witnessed the day's finals as the chief guest and later distributed the prizes. Deputy Director and Chief of Games & Sports of meet sponsor Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar was present as special guest.
