Army sues 60 in connection with Rupganj violence

NARAYANGANJ, Oct 29: A case on behalf of Army Thursday night was filed against 50 to 60 unidentified people in connection with Rupganj violence. Aminur Rahman, warrant officer of East Bengal Regiment unit-34, filed the case. Rupganj thana Officer-in-Charge Forkan Sikder said, beating of army personnel, attack on army camp, ransacking, looting and arson attack were alleged. With this, a total of three cases were filed so far in connection with Saturday's violence. RAB-11 and police filed separate cases against 3000 to 4,000 unidentified people. Julhash Mia, a businessman of Taan Musuri area, Thursday night also lodged a written complaint with thana against 200 unidentified people for ransacking, looting and arson attack on his house. — UNB
