Army vigilant in maintaining law & order

Soldiers from the Bangladesh Army have been remaining deployed in 58 districts in 206 camps across Bangladesh to ensure security for the people and their property, as well as for the important government establishments, reports BSS.
In separate incidents on Thursday and Friday, army personnel led two teams of law enforcement agencies and detained the prisoners of Jamalpur District Jail and Chattogram Central Jail, who attempted to flee with the arms and ammunitions from the prison premises, according to an ISPR press statement.
Moreover, soldiers have been rushing to the spot of different incidents of vandalism and looting in the country. They have ensured security for the people of the minority community during an attack at a Noakhali temple, the statement said.
Soldiers have also been remaining deployed to ensure security of the camps of forcibly displaced Myanmar citizens in Cox's Bazar, where they are on patrol with other law enforcement agencies.
Army members have already been deployed in 417 upazilas or thanas, including 29 in the capital Dhaka that will accelerate the drive to recover the lost arms of police, according the statement.
Bangladesh Army is working to ensure security of the President's Office, Bangabhaban, the Prime Minister's Office, Gonobhaban, the data center at Mahakhali and different other important establishments.
Informing people that efforts are underway to create panic by spreading rumors on social media, the statement said that people have been requested to communicate directly with army camps about any information that may stir fear.
Bangladesh Army stays beside the people and will do so in future for the sake of the people and any need of the state, the statement added.
