Arrest RU teacher\\\'s killers: PM

Expressing deep anguish over the gruesome murder of Rajshahi University (RU) teacher AKM Shafiul Islam, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered immediate arrest of the killers. Her Press Secretary AKM Shamim Chowdhury said that the prime minister gave the order to ‘relevant authorities’ soon after the murder on Saturday afternoon. Unknown assailants attacked Prof AKM Shafiul Islam with sharp weapons near the university campus when he was returning home. With critical injuries on his head and shoulder, Islam was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital. But he succumbed to the injuries around 4:00pm, doctors said. Police are yet to identify and arrest the killers. The motive behind the killing is also not clear, according to a news agency.
