Arrest warrant against Mufti Izher

CHITTAGONG, Mar 27: A court has issued warrant of arrest against Mufti Izharul Islam, chairman of a fraction of Islami Oikya Jote and Nayeb-e-Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam.
The court has fixed the date of hearing on charge sheet against Izhar on April 6 in connection with the bomb blast in his Madrasah that left five students injured, two of whom later succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
Mufti's son Harun Izhar was arrested from the spot while the Hefazat leader managed to flee.
Later, he took temporary bail from the court but did not surrender to the court after framing of charges. So the trial court of Chittagong Second Additional Metropolitan Judge SM Abdur Rashid issued the warrant of arrest after hearing.
