Arrest warrant for Proshika chairman

A Dhaka court on Tuesday issued a warrant for the arrest of six Proshika high-ups, including its chairman Kazi Faruk, in a fraudulence case. Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibul Haque passed the order following pleas filed by the lawyers of the complainant. The other accused are Proshika executive director Kazi Khazi Alam, directors Altaf Hossain, Abul Kashem and Mahbubul Alam and deputy director Alamgir Hossain. Quamrul Islam, former computer operator of the NGO, filed the case against the six Proshika officials with Rupnagar Police Station in the city on September 11 last year. According to the case statement, Quamrul went on retirement from the organisation on September 27, 2011 due to his physical inability, according to UNB.
