Arrest warrant issued against ex-Information Secy in defamation case

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court Monday ordered warrant of arrest against former Information Secretary ATM Fazlul Karim alias Abu Karim in the defamation case for undermining Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members in one of his poems, reports UNB.
Awami Ulema League president Moulana Mohammad Elias Hossain Bin Helali filed the case on February 22 when the petitioner had sought an order for warrant of arrest against Abu Karim.
The court deferred until March 16 orders in two other similar cases against Abu Karim who was sent on forced retirement by the government following publication of the poem which was focused by a section of the media last month.
