Arrested 22 in Barisal sent to jail, safe home

BARISAL, Apr 24 (UNB): The man and 21 women, arrested from the city Thursday on suspicion, were sent to jail and safe home following a court order Friday.
The chief judicial magistrate gave the order after they were produced before the court in the morning.
Rejecting their bail prayers, the court ordered to send eight minor girls to the safe home and 13 female and a male to the jail.
The minor girls are: Salma Akhter (15), Tania Akhter (16), Marzina Akhter (12), Khadiza Akhter (17), Rahima (9), Shahida Khatun (16), Nur Banu Khan (14) and Mohsina (14).
Court and police sources said the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the 22 from a house in the city's Circular Road Thursday morning.
The arrested were handed over to the Barisal Kotwali police Thursday evening after a day-long interrogation at the RAB-8 camp.
