The two JMB men, arrested in Dhanmondi on Tuesday, have said that apart from helping the JMB men accused in Burdwan blast case to cross over into India, they were coordinating the terrorist activities in the two countries. During preliminary interrogation, they reportedly revealed to the detectives that they also used to help the wives and children of the absconding JMB militants to cross Bangladesh-India border. Police arrested Md Saidur Rahman, 48, and Md Abul Salek, 25, members of the banned Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), from Saat Masjid Road in Dhanmondi area in Dhaka on Tuesday night. Police claimed the two were involved in transnational terrorist activities. Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Deputy Commissioner Masudur Rahman said that some bomb-making manuals were also recovered from them. Masudur Rahman said that Md Abul Salek is the younger brother of Tariqul Islam Suman, the militant wanted in a case filed in India for exploding bombs in Burdwan town in West Bengal state of India. Md Saidur Rahman is also an active member of the outlawed militant outfit, the DMP official claimed.
