Arson attack on Nusrat at principal’s behest: PBI

Call grows for justice

The arson attack on Nusrat Jahan Rafi, a student of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa, was made as per the "instruction" of the madrasa principal Siraj Ud Dowla, said Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), reports BSS.
"The arson attack on Nusrat was made at the instruction of madrasa principal Siraj Ud Dowla. We have so far found involvement of 13 people in the killing. Of them, four were mainly involved in the murder," PBI chief Bonoj Kumar Mazumder, also Deputy Inspector General of police, told a briefing at  the PBI's headquarters at Dhanmondi on Saturday.
The disclosure came amid the call from different groups of rights and cultural activists to bring the killers of Nusrat to book. They demonstrated in different areas in the city on Saturday.
Among the 13 people found involved, four people, including two girls were directly involved in setting fire to Nusrat, he said, adding that a day before the arson attack, one of the accused Nur Uddin met principal at the local jail.
