Art represents the identity of world history: Sahara

The Telecommunications Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun said that art bears the identity of world history and this medium helps creativity.
The Minister said this while delivering her speech in the opening session of a solo art exhibition of Sumona Haque at Jahangirnagar University's (JU) Jaheer Raihan auditorium Saturday.
The exhibition will continue until December 13 and will remain open from 10am to 8pm everyday.
A total of 40 art works of Sumona Haque will be displayed in this exhibition representing the birth of Bangladesh, liberation war and daily lives of the people.
JU Vice Chancellor Prof Anwar Hossain attended the programme as special guest while pro-VC Prof Forhad Hossain also spoke at the programme.
The Minister also said, "The present government has taken steps to patronize the home culture to preserve it."
Prof Anwar Hossain said, "Development of civilization influences art and we get chances to know the artist's spirit and thought."
Artist Sumona Haque said, "I have selected the thought of contemporary human life and socio-economic condition as my art's topic".
