ASA, Sightsavers Int'l sign MoU

The Hope for the Poorest (HP), a sister concern of ASA and Sightsavers International recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to provide free eye treatment to the extreme poor people of the country, said a press release.
Poor people will get free eye treatment, including operation and necessary medicines, according to the MoU.
HP will render service to the people with the technical assistance of Sightsavers International.
The programme will be launched on May 20, 2010 at the ASA Health Complex, Chunarughat, Habiganj and gradually it will be expanded throughout the country. About five lakh eye patients will get treatment.
Executive Director of HP Md Shahidul Islam and Country Director of Sightsavers International Dr Wahidul Islam signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations. High officials of both the institutions were present on the occasion.
