Ashok Leyland net zooms 450pc

CHENNAI, Feb 1 (Economic Times): Hinduja group flagship Ashok Leyland (ALL) posted a spectacular performance in the third quarter ended December 31, 2009, with a 450-per cent jump in net profit at Rs 1.05 billion against Rs 1.09 billion in the same period in the previous year. Net sales spurted by 81 per cent to Rs 18.15 billion.
In the first nine months, net profit increased 47 per cent to Rs 2.01 billion though net sales dropped by 10 per cent to Rs 43.07 billion. In the third quarter, the company boosted vehicle sales by 101 per cent 16,129 numbers (8,011) and parts sales by 91 per cent.
